Personal Year Cycle 10 - The Wheel of Fortune

Over the last few weeks, we've looked at some Personal Year Cycles through both Numerology and Tarot. This week, I want to take a look at my Personal Tarot Year, which I entered in December.

In Numerology, I entered my Personal Year Cycle 1, but in Tarot it’s a little different. See last week’s post for how to calculate your Tarot Year Cycle. I’m entering my Tarot Year Cycle 10 – The Wheel of Fortune. The corresponding Minor Arcana offer insight into gifts, challenges, opportunities and lessons.

The Year of the Wheel of Fortune is about changes leading to new opportunities and looking at life from a new perspective. You spent last year searching within, discovering your direction, ending old ways, and preparing for this next cycle. Now, with the Wheel in Motion, it’s time to jump on and go. This is a great year to begin new things, be creative and get projects off the ground. You may not see immediate results, but the start-ups will be solid.

The Wheel of Fortune sets you on a path toward your destiny. It’s up to you whether it is a smooth adventure or a bumpy ride. If you didn't get in touch with yourself last year, discover where you wanted to go and tie up loose end, you may find the Wheel knocks things out of the way. You may lose your stagnant job, an unhealthy relationship, or even find yourself thrown to the curb with no place to live. But, don’t get discouraged, Destiny is pushing you toward the path - the one you seem to be avoiding, the one which is inevitable - your destined path.

10 of Cups – the gifts of happiness and joy, the challenge to celebrate what is, the opportunity to grow spiritually, Lesson – Happiness is found within the soul.

10 of Swords - the gifts of letting go, the challenge to give in and let life happen, the opportunity to start over, Lesson – All endings bring new beginnings.

10 of Pentacles - the gifts of abundance and support, the challenge to accept gifts, the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest, Lesson – Life has a way of getting to the good stuff, when you’re truly ready to experience it.

10 of Wands - the gifts of work and success, the challenge to only take on what you can handle, the opportunity to delegate the work load, Lesson – Success doesn't have to be achieved alone.

Good luck to all of you in your Wheel of Fortune Year.

Personal Year Cycle 9 - The Hermit

In December of last year, we looked at the Personal Year Cycle 9 in Numerology. Now let’s look at it from a Tarot Viewpoint.

For your Tarot Year Cycle, the dates are added together differently, and there are 22 cycles involved.

Using the same birthday as before - July 9 and last year, to keep us in line with the earlier post, 2013 ( 7 + 13 + 2013 = 2033 = 2+0+3+3 = 8). In July, you would have begun a personal year cycle of 8 Strength and will stay in this cycle until your next birthday.

*In this case, the answer remained 8, but in some cases it would differ. For instance, July 7 (7+7+2013=2027=2+0+2+7=11 Tarot year), while (7+7+ (2+0+1+3) =20=2 Numerical Year).

In December, I ended my Tarot Year Cycle of 9 - The Hermit. In Who Are You In The Tarot? Mary K. Greer suggests the corresponding Minor Arcana cards are indicators of the gifts and challenges (lessons and opportunities) you will face.

The Year of the Hermit is one of isolation, reflecting on past experiences, and soul searching. You may not want to be alone, even experience dreaded loneliness, but it will be necessary, even forced. You’ll learn to enjoy the solitude as the year moves on and will use it to your advantage.

You’ll reflect on where you've been and what you've accomplished up to this point. Tying up loose ends and finishing projects will come naturally as you begin to make plans for your next move.

You may also find yourself seeking guidance or in some cases being sought out for your own wisdom.

9 of Cups – the gifts of intuition and creative imagination, the challenge to focus and achieve, the opportunity to put your visual plans into action – trophies on the wall and a personal satisfaction. Lesson – You can have and be whatever you want.

9 of Swords – the gift of tears and release, the challenge to push past your nightmares and mental agony, the opportunity to work through your worries and despair. Lesson – Nothing’s ever as bad as it seems in the midst of worry.

9 of Pentacles – the gifts of self-sufficiency and financial success, the challenge to do it alone, the opportunity to succeed. Lesson – You can have it all!

9 of Wands – the gift of strength, the challenge of standing your ground, the opportunity to make a difference. Lesson – You have to stand for something.

Looking upon these five cards, I’m able to see my last cycle very clearly, and it all makes sense. Wished I’d looked at this before and during the cycle. It may have made life a little easier to bear.

Good luck to all of you in your Hermit Year.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is ready for the New Year. 2014 is the Chariot Tarot Year, and we are all sure to see some major movements and challenges throughout the year. It’s the time to pick a target, a goal and get into gear, go after it and achieve it.

As we begin the New Year, it is a great chance to get those Tarot Decks, or other divination tools, out and take a look at what you can expect during the year. It’s also a good time to learn new things and discover new ways of doing things.

So, I have you some wonderful gifts here to get you started. I am choosing to re-gift, since some amazing women have already supplied some great tools.

Enjoy!

The Lakota Wheel of the Year Spread – Donnaleigh de LaRose has created this great gift of a spread that will be of use throughout the New Year. The spread combines multiple deck types – Tarot, Lenormand, Oracles, Angel Cards, etc. Everything you need is on her blog, including a video how-to.

This is a BIG spread and will take some time. But, if you can just get the cards in place, take a snapshot and work on it a little at a time.

Here is mine. As you can see some of the information is lost, but with a pen you can jot down onto the photo anything you can’t see and you are set. Pack your cards back up and read your cards a little at a time.

Carrie Paris has created a delightful Lenormand deck, perfect for beginners, keywords right on the cards. All you have to do is print them out on card stock and get started with your new deck, which is available at her blog. And did I tell you, it’s free, a gift, enjoy!
