Springing Back Into Action

Spring has arrived here in South Carolina after a very short, if not non-existent, winter. And, summer will overtake this wonderful weather in a blink of an eye. It's worth taking a moment to enjoy each blessed second as life shifts into full bloom.




I'm very excited to be back. I'll begin with a short update of what has been going on. I must warn you though, not much has really gotten done. But, time has passed, and I do feel rested and more energized.

At work, we went from a busy Christmas into a fast-paced New Year, with a slice of Mail Count! Mail Count is the time of year where we LITERALLY count the pieces of mail being delivered by a carrier. I won’t bore you with details on that matter.

I did, in the midst of all this rush, obtain the full-time position. This came with its own busy work of papers to fill out and sign. Everything has now calmed down, and I have settled into the new position. My hours are reliable, and responsibilities are focused to one individual route. This makes for a less stressful day, leaving energy to go elsewhere.

Although the job did dominate most of the last few months, I squeezed in a few things, here and there. Mostly, I have a pile of things waiting for my attention.

Coloring

I received Stephen King’s 11/22/63 for Christmas. It’s a BIG book, but I’m slipping up on the last bit now. I’m praying for a satisfying end. Please no spoilers in the comments.

Schiffer Publishing has blessed me with many amazing Tarot decks and books. I can’t wait to share some of the goodies with you. I’m a little behind on digging into these. Last year, I received the Chronicles of Destiny Fortune Cards and only recently opened them. I LOVE them! Don’t worry. I plan to tell you all about them and all the other goodies decorating my office floor.

I also invested in Tori Hartman's Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards and Toolkit. I really haven't had much time to spend with these just yet. I jumped in head first and also signed up for the course which begins in May. I'll be sure to let you know how this ends up going.



So, what's the plan? I have no plan! I kept waiting for a suitable time to sit down and form some type of plan. What will we discuss? How often will I post? But, it seems the time never arrived. Something always pulls me in another direction. So, here we go, I’m just going to jump right in and we’ll see what happens.

Extended Hiatus

I'm extending my Hiatus due to life changing circumstances.

I've worked at the post office as a part-time employee for the last seven years. My turn has come to graduate to a full-time employee. To be honest, most of the time I worked hours of a full-timer, but the breaks in-between allowed for all of my outside interests. The time has come to narrow my focus and take on only what is most important.

I plan to continue with my writing and publishing. Get updates at my Author Website or sign up for the newsletter.

For now, I'm no longer offering readings to the public. I may return to this once I'm settled into my new position.

I'm hoping to return to regular blog posts as soon as possible, although it may be monthly posts rather than weekly.

I was able to move forward with my new hobby of coloring books. It has been a random process, but very relaxing. Below, you'll see my recent accomplishments.

Temporary Hiatus

I've decided to take a break from the blog for the rest of the year. My day job is entering the Christmas season rush: Christmas Catalogs galore and Packages for all. It's a bit like being a part of Santa's crew this time of year.

But, I'll be totally honest. It has been a long year. I need to wrap this one up with a little 'me' time. While I'm away, I'll be enjoying my newest hobby - coloring books, yeah! I tend to turn all of my creative ventures into dreaded tasks. I'm hoping this will help bring the joy back to all my activities.

I hope you all have wonderful holidays and plenty of family fun. Stay creative and keep those Tarot dreams alive.

I've made a few changes to the blog. I'm hoping it will make it easier to navigate through the many posts.

You'll notice on the left side bar - Main Categories. You'll find almost everything the blog has to offer in these few topics.

At the bottom of the page, you'll find a cluster of All Categories. Some of the Main Categories have also been broken down into sub-categories to further help in finding your way.

I hope this helps new readers find more information, and past readers revisit areas long forgotten.

Technical Difficulties

Yes, once again, I'm having technical difficulties here at Tarot Guidance, and of course at my other blog.

Warning - Never, ever, paste an image onto your blogger blog.

It took me a good while to figure out what was causing my problem, but finally found the issue. On Thanksgiving, I pasted rather than uploaded the images on the blog(s). This caused the html coding to be extremely long, which caused my feed to be too big, which made bother feed burner and twitter to quit using the feed. Leave it to me to cause such a problem, right?

The worst part is I made many changes elsewhere before I discovered the true problem. So, now the feed to my blog is not the same. Anyone subscribed will have to re-subscribe - I believe. Now, I may be totally wrong in this, but if you continue to not receive updates and such, you will need to re-subscribe. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for anyone.

After posting this, I discovered another problem which may be of interest to anyone using Feedburner.com. Google bought them out, seems like a while back, but now I can't get to my account. So, I believe anyone signed up with continue to get their email updates.

I would appreciate it if you would delete that subscription and sign up through the new link on the blog. This gives me the ability to control the output on this end. Again, I do apologize for all the inconvenience.

Technical Difficulties

It seems I've managed to mess up both my blogs. The images are gone, replaced by icky black boxes. I guess when I moved ownership over to different email addresses and deleted the old account, I managed to do away with whatever links Picasa Web Albums to the blogs.

Have patience, this may take quite a while, but I will get it all back in order.

Announcement

I find myself in a position of unbalance and what feels like chaos. In truth, I’ve put myself in a spot where I can’t keep up with everything. I have no time for writing, reading, and all the other projects I’ve set up. I need to be advertising my book. I need to be preparing for whatever the post office might throw at me, in terms of do I have a job or not.

I’ve went about the process of pulling in editorial work, but you can imagine this is a struggle. Between post office work and editing jobs my time is sparse. So, it’s time to make changes and make some sacrifices. I’m going to take this slow, in hopes everything will come together in time.

What does this have to do with the blogs? Cuts start here. I’ve met so many people through both my blogs and gained so many friends and acquaintances. My two blogs are my home away from home, and closing them down would be like killing my friend. So, to keep from closing them, I’ve chosen to cut back instead. Please bear with me through the changes, and hopefully one day life will settle down and I can go back to the old routine.

Here is the schedule I plan to keep for now.

Tuesdays - Footsteps of a Writer (I do have a few guest blogs and interviews set up which will not correspond with this day.)

Thursdays – Tarot Guidance

Sundays will be set aside for any type of reviews: Writing How to Books, Fiction Books, Tarot Cards, Spiritual Books, etc. (These posts will occur when available, not weekly.)

Wednesday will be promo day. Any exciting news about my writing journey will appear on this day. (These posts will occur when available, not weekly.)

The Newsletter will continue as usual, releasing during the first week of each month.

If you are interested in guest blogging or being interviewed on either blog, please contact me, and we’ll get you set up.

You don’t know how much weight has lifted off my shoulders just by this one change. Cutting my blogging in half will allow a little more room to move. I hope you all understand this slight change, and chose to continue following my journey through life.

Can't comment on blogs?

It seems there's a problem going around. People are having trouble commenting on blogs. If you are having this trouble, I'd like to share with you what I've done so far. Of course, if you are experiencing this and can't figure it out, feel free to contact me through my contact page and I'll do my best to help you out.

My first experience was I couldn't comment on my own blog posts. At first, I thought it was blogger and waited patiently. Then I started googling to try and find a solution.

The most common suggested solution was to clear your cookies and cache. I was using IE9, and this didn't work for me. But, give it a try. I then decided to switch browsers. I've been having trouble with IE locking up for a while now anyway. So, I switched to Google Chrome, and it's been smooth sailing since.

Then, a follower contacted me. He couldn't comment on my blog. After more research, I learned this may be a blogger issue. The suggested solution was to go to Settings - Comments - Switch from 'embedded below post' to either of the other two options. This seems to have corrected the issue.

I hope this post helps someone out there get back to commenting on their favorite blogs.

I'm Back

Unfortunately, a few days of no internet service turned into a few weeks.

The day after we moved, we found out there would be a delay in service due to the issue of a necessary bury drop because the line had to go across the road.

I'd like to see more activity on the blog. I thought the 'Interpret A Card', would receive more responses. The resulting non-responses got me to thinking about what types of posts would interest the readers of this blog.

I thought, what would I like to see about the tarot on a blog. Posting personal readings came to mind, but not sure if this would really be of any interest to anyone other than myself. Explanations of each card individually is an option, but is that really what you want to read about here.

The point of this post is to ask you, the reader, what you would like to see in future posts. So, what would interest you?
