Personal Year Cycle 10 - The Wheel of Fortune

Over the last few weeks, we've looked at some Personal Year Cycles through both Numerology and Tarot. This week, I want to take a look at my Personal Tarot Year, which I entered in December.

In Numerology, I entered my Personal Year Cycle 1, but in Tarot it’s a little different. See last week’s post for how to calculate your Tarot Year Cycle. I’m entering my Tarot Year Cycle 10 – The Wheel of Fortune. The corresponding Minor Arcana offer insight into gifts, challenges, opportunities and lessons.

The Year of the Wheel of Fortune is about changes leading to new opportunities and looking at life from a new perspective. You spent last year searching within, discovering your direction, ending old ways, and preparing for this next cycle. Now, with the Wheel in Motion, it’s time to jump on and go. This is a great year to begin new things, be creative and get projects off the ground. You may not see immediate results, but the start-ups will be solid.

The Wheel of Fortune sets you on a path toward your destiny. It’s up to you whether it is a smooth adventure or a bumpy ride. If you didn't get in touch with yourself last year, discover where you wanted to go and tie up loose end, you may find the Wheel knocks things out of the way. You may lose your stagnant job, an unhealthy relationship, or even find yourself thrown to the curb with no place to live. But, don’t get discouraged, Destiny is pushing you toward the path - the one you seem to be avoiding, the one which is inevitable - your destined path.

10 of Cups – the gifts of happiness and joy, the challenge to celebrate what is, the opportunity to grow spiritually, Lesson – Happiness is found within the soul.

10 of Swords - the gifts of letting go, the challenge to give in and let life happen, the opportunity to start over, Lesson – All endings bring new beginnings.

10 of Pentacles - the gifts of abundance and support, the challenge to accept gifts, the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest, Lesson – Life has a way of getting to the good stuff, when you’re truly ready to experience it.

10 of Wands - the gifts of work and success, the challenge to only take on what you can handle, the opportunity to delegate the work load, Lesson – Success doesn't have to be achieved alone.

Good luck to all of you in your Wheel of Fortune Year.

Personal Year Cycle 9 - The Hermit

In December of last year, we looked at the Personal Year Cycle 9 in Numerology. Now let’s look at it from a Tarot Viewpoint.

For your Tarot Year Cycle, the dates are added together differently, and there are 22 cycles involved.

Using the same birthday as before - July 9 and last year, to keep us in line with the earlier post, 2013 ( 7 + 13 + 2013 = 2033 = 2+0+3+3 = 8). In July, you would have begun a personal year cycle of 8 Strength and will stay in this cycle until your next birthday.

*In this case, the answer remained 8, but in some cases it would differ. For instance, July 7 (7+7+2013=2027=2+0+2+7=11 Tarot year), while (7+7+ (2+0+1+3) =20=2 Numerical Year).

In December, I ended my Tarot Year Cycle of 9 - The Hermit. In Who Are You In The Tarot? Mary K. Greer suggests the corresponding Minor Arcana cards are indicators of the gifts and challenges (lessons and opportunities) you will face.

The Year of the Hermit is one of isolation, reflecting on past experiences, and soul searching. You may not want to be alone, even experience dreaded loneliness, but it will be necessary, even forced. You’ll learn to enjoy the solitude as the year moves on and will use it to your advantage.

You’ll reflect on where you've been and what you've accomplished up to this point. Tying up loose ends and finishing projects will come naturally as you begin to make plans for your next move.

You may also find yourself seeking guidance or in some cases being sought out for your own wisdom.

9 of Cups – the gifts of intuition and creative imagination, the challenge to focus and achieve, the opportunity to put your visual plans into action – trophies on the wall and a personal satisfaction. Lesson – You can have and be whatever you want.

9 of Swords – the gift of tears and release, the challenge to push past your nightmares and mental agony, the opportunity to work through your worries and despair. Lesson – Nothing’s ever as bad as it seems in the midst of worry.

9 of Pentacles – the gifts of self-sufficiency and financial success, the challenge to do it alone, the opportunity to succeed. Lesson – You can have it all!

9 of Wands – the gift of strength, the challenge of standing your ground, the opportunity to make a difference. Lesson – You have to stand for something.

Looking upon these five cards, I’m able to see my last cycle very clearly, and it all makes sense. Wished I’d looked at this before and during the cycle. It may have made life a little easier to bear.

Good luck to all of you in your Hermit Year.

What's your Zodiac Card

Rider-Waite
Your Zodiac Card is determined by your Sun sign. If you don't know your sun sign, go to any horoscope listing and determine your sign. Below you will find a chart to match up your sun sign with the correct card.

You can learn more about yourself through this card, which indicates what you need to reveal yourself to others.

Ask yourself, what can I learn from this card? Do you feel the card connects with how you act with others? Is there any way you can use the energies of the cards to better present yourself to the people around you?

My Zodiac Card - Temperance - Reveals to me that I am a giver, seeking a balance of give and take. I have a special connection with the spiritual realm of life. By grasping these energies and using them to help others, I will find a happy balance in my life.

Basically, I give in the hope of receiving, which opens me up to a letdown when nothing is returned. The balance here can be made by accepting that receiving is more about energy rather than recognition.

By giving a piece of yourself to others, you will find that the gifts are pure positive energies.

So, what Zodiac Card are you? What can you learn from the card?

Note: The names of these cards may change according to the deck you are using. In the case of Strength and Justice, the number will be determined by the deck.

Aries, 4 The Emperor
Taurus, 5 The Hierophant
Gemini, 6 The Lovers
Cancer, 7 The Chariot
Leo, 11/8 Strength
Virgo, 9 The Hermit
Libra, 8/11 Justice
Scorpio, 13 Death
Sagittarius, 14 Temperance
Capricorn, 15 The Devil
Aquarius, 17 The Star
Pisces, 18 The Moon

Your Hidden Factor Card

The third card in your Tarot Profile is the Hidden Factor Card. This card may also be called the Teacher Card. The Major Arcana card shows your underlying issues. As the Teacher Card it assists you in overcoming these issues.

You can determine this card with the chart on page 32, shown in the preview section on Tarot for Your Self by Mary K Greer. More information on this card and Minor Arcana cards which show further lessons to be learned can also be found in these preview pages.

To obtain a better understanding of your Tarot Profile, purchase a copy of this Mary K Greer's Tarot for Your Self.

My Hidden Factor Card is 14 Temperance. This card reflects that my underlying issues are finding balance in life and experiencing spiritual growth. To accomplish my goals for this lifetime, I need to be aware of what I do, what I give, and what I receive. The universe works on cause and effect and for me to see the whole I must balance it all out. The concept is that the effects of this card are stronger after you've stepped over the 30 year mark. This seems completely logical, for I find myself searching for this balance and intrigued by spirituality.

My Minor Arcana Cards are the fives of each suit. These reflect other lessons to be learned.

5 of Cups - A lesson of thinking positive.
5 of Swords - A lesson of accepting victory graciously.
5 of Wands - A lesson of gathering knowledge.
5 of Pentacles - A lesson of struggling against the odds.

The Tarot is a great way to learn more about yourself. By creating a Tarot Profile, you'll be amazed at what you may learn.

Soul Card

The second card in a Tarot Profile is the Soul Card. This card indicates your soul purpose for all your lifetimes.

To discover this card simply add the numbers of your Personality Card. Reduce this number together until you reach a number between 1 and 9. Match this number with the corresponding Major Arcana card and you have your Soul Card.

The formula for your Personality Card can be found here.

In some cases, your Personality Card and Soul Card will be the same.

My Personality Card is 5 - The Hierophant. Since the 5 is already between 1 and 9, it is also my Soul Card.

Personality Card

Discovering a better understanding of yourself is one way to use the Tarot cards. Creating a Tarot Profile is one step toward this.

The first card to discover is the Personality Card. This card reflects what you have come in to this particular lifetime to learn.

To find this card, add the numerical values of your birthday and reduce number to 22 or below.

Example: 12-10-1972 = 12+10+1972 = 1994 = 1+9+9+4 = 23 = 5

Your Personality Card is then selected by corresponding number with card from Major Arcana.

In this case, my Personality Card is The Hierophant.

The Hierophant represents the need to follow tradition, ceremony or a path of ideas and beliefs. It represents an interest in spiritual matters, or a spiritual mentor.

The Hierophant is the keeper of religious knowledge. Unlike the High Priestess, who keeps the knowledge for the sake of holding, the Hierophant keeps the knowledge for the sake of sharing.

If your Personality Card is The Hierophant, your lessons for this lifetime are to create a sturdy foundation for your spiritual beliefs and to share them with others. You are to be a teacher of a spiritual nature. This may come any many forms, not necessarily religious is traditional ways, although I would be surprised to find a preacher with the Hierophant as his/her Personality Card. You may teach through writing, through workshops, or perhaps sharing on the Internet. Your spiritual beliefs could range from tarot studies, kindness to others, family values, etc. The main point of this lifetime is to share your beliefs to better educate and bring understanding to others.

What is your Personality Card? What are your lessons in this lifetime?

Share with us your card, and I'll post on that particular Personality Card to give you better understanding of your lessons.
