Using Your Intuition

Legacy of the Divine
There is no magic in tarot cards. All the power is within you and the client. The tarot is a tool which helps to connect you with your intuition and the higher power. The more spiritually open you are the better you will be able to connect with the cards.

A good reader is open and receptive to the message of the cards. This is not to say a good reader can’t be wrong on occasion. The future is ever changing. An individual can change their path by not grasping the positive, by grasping the negative, and even avoiding the opportunity all together.

As a reader, you give the best reading possible and hope you help the client to take the best possible advantage of what lies ahead.

The best way to become better connected with your intuition is practice. Practice with your cards. Daily readings, jotting down notes at time of reading, and reviewing readings days later, will help you better understand the messages the cards are revealing.

Meditation is also a good way to become in tuned with your intuition. Messages come to us from a higher power throughout the day, but in most cases it’s hard to weed the negative messages out and allow the positive in. Quiet time can help to focus on the higher voice and improves the ability to know the difference between doubt and guidance.

Take ten minutes a day to sit quietly, undisturbed and let your mind wander. You will find yourself happier, calmer, and more focused. Adapt this to your readings by taking a moment to focus before beginning your session.

Do you have routines that better connect you to your intuition? Feel free to share.

Excellent post on the intuitive basics. Sometimes we forget, it's all about intuition and the power within us.

My whole life changed when I read Mary K. Greer's "21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card." I finally felt as if I had been given permission to read intuitively. I had been doing this for quite a while anyway, but had felt guilty because the meanings weren't always the "right" meanings.

I definitely agree with you that the cards are just a tool to connect with our intuition. So true.

Ame, I do understand your feelings of not having the 'right' meanings. The cards speak, and sometimes what they say is different than what some keywords suggest. I've read a few books that supply keywords in which make no sense to me what-so-ever. I believe every reader gets different messages from the cards, therefore, no reading would be the same by two readers. The cards needed for the specific reader are the cards which would be revealed.
