Guidance for February - Time to Make Your Choices Count

I'm very excited to be using the Tempus 85 this month. The deck has proven to be extremely accurate and easy to use. If you've read the deck review, you are aware of my excitement. If you haven't, be sure to go there after the reading.

I decided to use the Square of Nine Spread, also known as the Portrait Spread. It's a basic 3X3 layout. If you're familiar with Lenormand, you'll know the spread.

My steps through the spread are a mash up of the many suggested ways of other readers. In case you're interested, I'll post something later in the month to walk you through my steps. I'd rather not interrupt the reading post with technique details.

I asked the usual question, "How should we approach the month? What can we expect?"

Focus
Speed will be the main theme this month. Time is going to fly by and everything's going to shift quickly. I'm not sure about you, but that sounds fine to me. I'm tired of being stalled!

Basic Issue
The answer to finding your success will be in the choices you make publicly known. In other words, by declaring your goals and desires to another person, you make yourself accountable and this will help you find the success you seek.

Hidden Aspect
What you may not be aware of is that your desire to have something more, which has led to the departure of someone in your life, will bring some deeper issues to the surface that need to be dealt with. You thought that if you simply freed up your space and time, you would find the more you was looking for, but you'll need to go a little deeper. You need to ask yourself, what do you actually want more of? You already know the answers, but you may need to review a bit of your past, where you've been and what you've experienced up to this point, to find the clarity you need. It's time to do a little self-reflection work.

Past, Present, and Future
You've recently made it public, in some way that you are ready for something more. Someone is departing from your life, which will move quickly now, but has been a long time coming. Your choices will bring about the successful untangling of the issues you've faced.

Mind, Situation, Known
You are aware that you made the right choice in asking this person to leave. The issue of wanting more will quickly become untangled and clear to you. You're exposure of this deep longing will bring about your success.

Overview
The choice you made of separating from this person is going to bring your desires to you quickly. You should be prepared for the success you are about to experience.

Knighting the Oak
Slightly puzzled by the Oak, I decided to Knight it and get a clearer understanding of what it's referring to in the reading. Knighted by the Key and Crossroads, the Oak is pointing to the right choices being made. So, by making the right choices, the success we find will be more solid.

I hope YOU find this reading helpful. This reading touched very close to home for me and my own situation. I'm hoping it expands to the readers of the post, since that is actually the purpose here. But, if it doesn't, use the reading as an example reading for practice purposes.

Happy February, and Make those Choices Count.

Be sure to go read the deck review.

Happy Thanksgiving 'Blessings' Spread

Happy Thanksgiving!

Horn of Plenty

Thanksgiving is the time for families to gather and give thanks for all they have accomplished and encountered throughout the year. In celebration of the holiday, I've decided to fall back onto the Lenormand with a 'Blessings' Spread to help reveal those blessings.

Deck: Gilded Reverie Lenormand by Ciro Marchetti.

First, shuffle your deck, while thinking over the past year and the year to come. What blessings do you have to be thankful for?

Next, spread out the deck before you, locating the Bouquet card.

Then, lay out the 2-3 cards on each side of the Bouquet. The cards to the left reveal blessings of the past and present, while the cards to the right reveal blessings of the future.

Blessings of the Past and Present: A secure home life (House), both emotionally (Heart) and financially (Fish).

Blessings of the Future: Recognizing (Woman facing Paths) the many choices (Paths) of communications (Birds).

Take a moment to check on your Blessings.

Hope you all have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Keep It Simple, Silly

When approaching the Lenormand, one should realize how simple the process is and try not to make it more complicated than it is.

Easier said than done.

From experience, I believe the complications come in when we jump head first into this system and try to start reading before we are ready. Take it slow, build a vocabulary, form connections with the card combo system, and practice, practice, practice.

Below is an example of one of my daily draws. I threw the spread the other morning, jotted some notes, and left for work. Upon returning home, I glanced at my previous notes, yet nothing had happened during the day that rang true to my interpretation. So, I jotted down some more notes, played with some new keywords, and then it happened. The simple, logical interpretation jumped out at me and fell into place.

Final Interpretation: Leaving the office to drive my car around a committed route. (For those of you who may not know, I'm a rural mail carrier, therefore most of my work day is spent in my car following the same line of travel.) Surprise, nothing unusual happened, just a normal day at work.

This isn't the first time the Ship has appeared as Car for me. In February's Grand Tableau, it appeared followed by Fox, giving me Work Vehicle. But, I'll confess this wasn't evident until the end of the month, and I was reviewing the reading with hindsight. Such things are worth noting in a Card Journal, and the Road+Ring (committed path, my mail route) will be added in my Combo Journal.

Lenormand tip - Keep notes, build vocabulary, and creating connecting combos. Journals are very important in learning the Lenormand. I currently have three - one for individual meanings, one for combos, and one for daily/monthly readings.

Good luck in you Lenormand Journey and don't forget to Practice.

One Step at a Time

Card combos are very important when working with Lenormand. One card alone gives a vague idea of what’s going on, but when bringing in the added information of a descriptor card the idea becomes clearer.

While Tarot is a different system, finding connections between the cards is a necessary process for the best possible reading. The Tarot offers much more in the way of one card bringing depth to the reading but add a descriptor card, and you get volumes.

Using the different systems, let’s take a look at the week ahead - March 3-9. I’m using the Tarot to discover the theme and the Lenormand to show an issue or event for the week.

rider-waite, gilded reverie lenormand
Theme - Knight of Swords/The Emperor (reversed)

The Knight gives us the main focus while the reversed Emperor provides us with added descriptions.

The Knight of Swords charges toward his destination. Nothing can slow him down. He has his mind set and he's going after it. But wait. The Emperor reversed is overbearing and allows for no slack. He enforces the rules and demands you to not step out of line.

You feel ready to charge, but a need to follow the rules holds you back.

Issue or Event - Sun/Clouds

Weather would be the obvious issue here, but let's go to another level.

The Sun provides the main focus of the issue, while the Clouds describe this focus.

The Sun shows success and big luck. The Clouds, difficulties and confusion, dampen the success and makes it difficult to reach full potential.

You have difficulties reaching complete success.

Overview:

You have success this week, but maybe not as much progress as you hoped for. You may feel you could have achieved more, but give yourself a break; there are energies and necessary tasks holding you back. Take it one step at a time. It's better to do it right, rather than getting it done fast. Take the time to reach your success instead of rushing toward completion.

Hope you all of a wonderful week. Enjoy the journey toward your destination.

Vintage Lenormand by Rootweaver and a look at the week ahead

A couple of weeks ago, I received a delightful gift - the Vintage Lenormand by Rootweaver, standard size and mini version.

The deck consists of 36 cards and is created in the Lenormand style of cartomancy. The high quality card stock makes both decks easy to handle, and the images are rich and earthy.

To purchase your own deck/decks visit Rootweaver's Decks.

To give you a view of some of the images, I decided to do a forecast for the week ahead using my new deck. Remember this is a personal forecast, which may or may not show energies you are also working with.

Card 1 - Monday and Tuesday - The Fish simply translates into money. It offers good fortune and reliable resources.

Card 2 - Wednesday and Thursday - The Bouquet represents a gift and happiness. Connecting back to the Fish gives a sign of this gift being in the form of money, financial profit.

Card 3 - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - The Lily is the business card, signifying work-related issues. (An alternative meaning for the Lily is purity and peace, according to the keyword list accompanying my deck.)

The Week Ahead

The week begins with the focus on money, which is provided in the form of a gift in the middle of the week. The weekend brings the week to a close with significance on business, perhaps the gifted money came from work, or could it be the gift will be put to business use. Either way, all of these flowers give me a sense of peace and natural growth.

The Week Ahead - Tarot Forecast

Kate at Daily Tarot Girl offers a reading at the beginning of each week, presenting a forecast for the week ahead. Today, we are going to steal this idea, and see what the cards tell us about the week ahead.

As a whole, we all work off the same energy source, yet our own energies mesh with the supply, giving each of us a unique life experience.

I’ve noticed many times when reading others’ blogs which present readings that I can connect with the given reading, while other times it seems to have nothing to do with me at all. You may also find such experiences when a reading is not directed toward you.

In my opinion, this is where daily horoscopes go wrong. There is too much energy moving around to give a good forecast to a number of people at one time.

With that said, take the weekly forecast for what it is, a personal forecast, which may or may not show energies you are also working with.

I decided to go with a 7-card, Rider-Waite (Crystal Visions Tarot) and Lenormand (Titania’s Fortune Cards) combo spread.

Weekly Forecast for April 8 – April 14

Card 1 and 4 – Monday and Tuesday – 7 of Wands/Garden – The 7 of Wands suggests conflict coming to a head, holding firm and not backing down. The Garden represents a positive social setting – the Fish gives the card a job-related significance.

The week begins with a conflict at work.

Card 2 and 5 – Wednesday and Thursday – 13 Death/Fish – The Death card represents a major transformation, a significant life event, the end of something. The Fish shows fortune and money – the Garden gives the card a work-related significance, work should blossom and pay well.

The middle of the week continues in a work-related theme, showing transformation and growth.

Card 3 and 6 – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – 12 The Hanged Man/Scythe – The Hanged Man card signifies a major transformation and being caught between the old and new. A new perspective is gained through re-evaluation and perhaps self-sacrifice. The Scythe indicates cutting free of something or someone, a sharp break. – The supporting cards, Garden and Fish, suggest this is also work-related.

The weekend brings with it a sharp break from something work-related, a re-evaluation, and a new perspective.

Card 7 - Advice – 9 of Cups – This is the wish card. Whatever you desire can be seen within this image. I hear a gentle caution message every time I see this card – Be careful what you wish for. As the energies coordinate to your wishes, one should be sure of what they desire and what they really want.

Week Overview – There will be a conflict at work, but backing down is not an option. Stick to your guns on the issue at hand. By mid-week, you will find yourself in a major transformation – possibly a new source of income. Over the weekend, you’ll find yourself re-evaluating your direction and cutting off from the people, obligations, or ideas which do not serve in the new direction you choose. What you wish will come true this week, but be sure it is what you want.

Note: The advice card coordinates with Kate’s Mid-week card - (Wish upon a Star – make a wish and expect the very best.)

Does anything in the reading correspond with your own energies? Do you see something within the cards I may have missed? Feel free to share your thoughts below in the comments, or contact me.

Titania's Fortune Cards - 7 card layout

The Titania's Fortune Cards are based on the Mlle. Lenormand's Fortune Telling Cards.

Image and Reviews available at Aeclectic Tarot.

Let's see what the cards reveal in a 7 card layout.

The letter represents the arrival of good news.

The flowers represent happiness.

When next to the letter, the flowers indicate an invitation.

The whip represents strife and quarrels. The card beside will specify the area.

When the flower falls next to the whip, it reduces the severity.

The woman represents an important woman, or the female questioner.

When the woman is next to the whip, she will cause conflict.

The cross is the card of destiny. It points to the area most important to the questioner.

The road indicates a new path, a new direction, or change the questioner is taking or is about to take.

The clover is the luck card. The questioner is protected, as if by magic.

The clover next to the road indicates a trip will turn out well.

A review: The letter/flowers together show an invitation. The whip/woman together show a conflict reduced by the presence of the flowers. The cross/road/clover show a destined path which turns out well.

Reading from left to right: An invitation, from a woman, arrives and causes a mild conflict. This event sends the questioner down a new path, which is both protected and destined.

Hope you enjoyed this short reading with the Titania's Fortune Cards. Do you see a connection here I may have missed? Do you use the Titania's Fortune Cards or similar cards? Feel free to share your comments and thoughts.
