Review: Manifesting Your Greatness Oracle by Amy E. Chace

Manifesting Your Greatness Oracle
Author: Amy E. Chace
Schiffer Publishing, 2019
Description: 46 oracle cards, 104 page guidebook
Card Size: 5 x 6

"Prepare to explore your heart with words and images that spark insight with 46 colorful and freshly stylized cards."

Manifesting Your Greatness Oracle is a 'No Rules' deck. The deck can be used with or without the guidebook. You can pull one card or as many as you like. There are no pre-defined layouts, no rules of how to read the cards, and no right or wrong way to use them.

The image and phase of each card are enough to give the guidance you seek. For further exploration, the guidebook offers suggestions to apply the card to your life and links to other cards.

The only thing I would change about the cards and guidebook would be the system of reference. The cards have no numbers and yet the guidebook has card numbers. The card descriptions are in no apparent order, leaving you to search for the information. Of course, there is a glossary in the front you can refer to which will lead you to the right page.

Manifesting Your Greatness Oracle would make a great deck for someone looking for a simple solution to finding quick guidance. There's no memorization needed. This deck can be easily used without the guidebook.

Review: Transformation Oracle by Sonya Shannon

Transformation Oracle
Author: Sonya Shannon
Schiffer Publishing, 2018
Description: 44 oracle cards and 150 page Guidebook
Card Size: about 2 3/4 by 4 3/4 inches

The Transformation Oracle, a channeled deck, is intended to guide you on your spiritual journey.

"Whether you read for yourself or others, the cards and their meanings are guided by the Divine to bring about healing, spiritual growth, and positive change."

The deck's foundation lies with the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. This is the first thing you should consider when reading the cards. Earth brings a message concerning your body, Air suggests a need to use your thoughts, Fire is a call to action, and Water signifies you to allow your feelings/emotions to guide you.

The included guidebook goes into great detail of how to use this deck - from getting started to cleansing the cards. The author offers ten spreads, along with instructions of how to interpret the cards within the spreads. The spreads range from the simple one card spread to the very detailed Chakra spread.

After all that, you learn about the eight phases within the transformation and the cards that fall into each phase, which brings the interpretation of these cards to an even higher level. These phases are: Beginning, Ending, Stasis, Quietude, Growth, Nourishment, Decline, and Refinement.

The images alone are breathtaking. You can gage the card's element by the bottom area of the card. Above, from left to right, you have earth, air, fire and water.

A brief look at these cards in their Phases:
Simplicity falls into the Decline Phase, which shows changed circumstances and power.
Direction and Stuck both fall into the Stasis Phase, showing a loss or stalled position.
Creativity is of the Nourishment Phase, showing blessings and gratitude.

The rest of the guidebook, over half, covers each card in great detail: interpretations, meanings - elements, numbers, and phases.

A brief look at a single card:
Wisdom, an air card, falls within the Refinement Phase, indicates work on the self that may take a long time to process. The Refinement stage is of personal growth, reflections, becoming our truths. Wisdom is about knowing and embracing that knowledge. At some point, you have to quit turning to others for the answers and acknowledge that you know what you to know in order to make the choices in your life. If you pull this card in your reading, it's a sure sign that you are ready to take charge of your own life.

You will find more information about this deck at the creator's website, transformation-oracle.com.

The energy of this deck is amazing. The images are breath taking. And, the messages received were extraordinary. I am very impressed with this deck. It would make a great addition to any reader's collection.

Guidance for July - Soul Connections

I was thinking over which deck to use this month. The Tea Leaf Fortune Cards popped into my head. I ignored the thought for a little while because the deck is so spot on, so accurate. I wasn't sure how well it would do for a group reading. But, it insisted on staying on my mind.

Worst case scenario - you get to see the deck in action. Best case - it proves to be further reaching than I imagined and we get some great advice for the month.

How should we approach this month? What can we expect?

Getting together with friends./You will receive a gift./Victory in some endeavor./Spiritual development, enlightenment, awareness, and understanding.

A social event will bring you a new sense of clarity and awareness. Suddenly all of your doubts will be cleared and you'll know exactly what is next in your journey.

A gift of friendship will bring about spiritual understanding and enlightenment.

As I looked at these cards, I received a sense that the friendship may be new and the event may be as simple as two people getting together for lunch.

Feel free to leave comments below about your month and any possible soul connections you experience.

I wish you all a Happy Fourth of July! Enjoy the celebrations and the month.

Guidance for June - Practice and Focus

I decided to go back to basics for June and use my go-to deck: the Rider Waite Tarot Deck. These are the images I began with when learning to read the tarot. And, although I love all the new decks out there, this is my favorite, and will always be my main deck.

I created a small spread for the monthly reading. The top card gives a big picture overview of the month. The three center cards move from left to right progressing through the month. And, the last card offers a word of advice.

"How should we approach this month? What can we expect?"

Big Picture - Overview of Month - 8 of Pentacles - Looks like we have some work to do in June. It will be all about practicing your skills and putting them to work. Some of you may have just started a course, or you may be practicing your craft on your own.

Beginning - 10 of Wands - And of course, we must do it all at once right?! We always jump in with both feet. It's the way we do it. How else can we get it done? We may find ourselves with a limited amount of time. In fact, this may not represent the time spent on the skill itself, but the struggle to actually get the time to spend on it.

Middle - 7 of Wands - The heavy load will wear us down. We'll have to decide what's most important. We may have to turn some opportunities away. We may have to fight for our right to create, to grow, to practice our craft. It's time to make 'You' a priority.

End - King of Swords - We're all set to go by the end of the month. We've found our focus and know which we're headed. We've weeded through the many wands we carried in the beginning of the month and narrowed our tasks down, so we can be more focused.

Advice - 6 of Wands - You can do this! There's no question of your victory. The advice is to believe in yourself and your abilities. Put in the work, and you'll reach the goals you are striving toward.

You should approach this month knowing that it will be a lot of work, but also that it will be worth it in the end.

Have a great June!

Guidance for May - Watch for Signs

I've chosen The Spirit Messages Daily Guidance Oracle Deck by John Holland for this month's deck. I bought these earlier in the year, but this will be my first time actually using them. I was hesitant to use them for the Monthly Guidance, since the subtitle clearly points out these are for daily use, but hopefully it will work out.

I decided to only pull one card and to ask the usual question, "How should we approach this month? What can we expect?"

Message on the card: Intuition is the language of the soul. We are all born aware with a profound sense of inner-knowing. Intuition is one of the greatest gifts we possess, which keeps us connected to our higher selves, the Universe, and to our Divine Spirit.

The Intuitive Nudges card appears at a time when you are searching for an answer. You came out of last month leaving behind some of our old ways and we embraced something new. Now, you may be looking for some direction. The Spirit World is available and has heard the questions.

But, are you listening?

You must make yourself available to feel, sense, and know when the answers arrive. Pay attention to your body for signals and be aware of your environment. The answers may come in a tingle up your arm, in the midst of a dream, words of a song, and even numbers on a license plate. These are all intuitive nudges from the Spirit World.

We should approach the month aware of Spirit and expect signs to arrive.

"Once you learn to trust your intuition, you will see yourself and the world in a way you never thought possible!"

Guidance for April - Prepare for Change

I've chosen The Enchanted Map Oracle Cards by Colette Baron-Reid for this month's deck. This is another of my favorite oracle decks. It's nice to dust these decks off after not using them in a while. I'm looking forward to being guided by these cards throughout the month.

For the overall month guidance layout, I picked the popular three-card - Past, Present, and Future spread.

I asked the question, "How should we approach this month? What can we expect?"

Past - Stuck in the Mud (reversed) - Did you stall out in March? I definitely felt as if I was treading mud during the last week. This card in the reversed position reveals a possible stall due to your lack of desire to actually reach your goal. You may have chosen the wrong path, or merely taken a side street. It is possible that you need to re-evaluate your desired destination. Things change with each and every breath we take. When you began last month, you may have thought you wanted one thing, but the closer you got the less desirable it became. Or maybe you lost track of what it was you wanted and just went astray. No matter the circumstance, it may be important as you enter April, to think about your recent stall and consider how you can get back on track.

Present - Ride the Wave (reversed) - This card in the reversed position suggests you may not yet be ready to Ride the Wave. You need to take this time to prepare for what's coming. Take some time to invest in your skills. Take some classes, talk to some experts, whatever you need to do to be ready for what's ahead. This will tie back to what you discovered about your moment in the Mud. Your new direction may be slightly different than what you first planned. Maybe you need to learn a new skill, or just brush up on an old skill. The main objective here is to stay in preparation mode for most of the month.

Future - Metamorphosis - Are you ready to become a butterfly? At the end of the month, you'll find that life has changed in a big way. There will be some pain involved as things fall away - old thinking patterns, a dead relationship, or maybe an old desire. Embrace this cycle, for what you and your life become will be amazing.

Life is never about one straight line from beginning to end. The journey is the main attraction, not the destination. It looks like this month will bring us to a moment where we need to think about where we really want to go and take some new steps toward the new goal. At least until it's time to change course once again. Enjoy the journey!

"The process of change is often painful, for it is never without losses and sacrifice. If you are to transform from one form to another, a part of you needs to die."

How to Read the Square of Nine Lenormand Spread

The Square of Nine Lenormand Spread, also known as the Portrait Spread, is one of the most used spreads in the Lenormand Community. But, as with all things, there are different approaches, alternate steps, and as always a different take on how to go about reading the cards.

Here's my version of the Square of Nine Lenormand Spread.

Note: the image is from February's Guidance Reading, in case you'd like to look over the steps and the reading at the same time.

Step One: Look at the central card. It represents the overall theme of the reading, answers the question directly, and/or shows what provoked the issue (why you asked the question). You can relate the card to multiple views, or just pick one and stick with it. It usually depends on the situation. As with the guidance for the month, I usually see this card as the overall theme.

Step Two: Read the corners to find the basic issue. (1+9+3+7)

Step Three: Read the diamond to find the hidden aspect of the issue. (2+4+6+8)

Step Four: Read the columns. Column 1 represents the past, Column 2 represents the present, and Column 3 represents the future.

You could stop here or take a few extra steps to gain more insight or to double check some of your information.

Optional Steps -

Step Five:  Read the rows. Row 1 shows what's on your mind, Row 2 shows the present situation, and Row 3 reveals what you already know about the situation.

Step Six: Read the diagonals to find possible influences and how things will pass. (1+5+9, 3+5+7)

Step Seven: Knighting a card can bring clarity to the card's meaning within the reading. The technique is based on the movements of a knight in a chess game. It is able to move to a square that is two squares away horizontally and one vertically, or two squares vertically and one horizontally. So, two cards up and one to the left or right, two cards down and one to the left or right, two cards to the left and one up or down, and two cards to the right and one up or down. You decide on the card you want to clarify and then pick the cards that knight it. These cards will reveal more detail about the card.

I hope this step by step guide helps in your next Reading of the Square of Nine Lenormand Spread.

Guidance for March - Burn the Bridge

I'll be using the Wisdom of the Oracle Deck by Colette Baron-Reid this month. This is one of my favorite oracle decks. It has been a while since I've used it. I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with the cards.

I used a three card layout. The middle card is the main focus of the month. The first card shows what led to the main focus. The last card shows the likely outcome or result of the month.

I asked the usual question, "How should we approach the month? What can we expect?"

Main Focus
The main focus of the month will be the need to tie up those loose ends from February. You'll need to finish the project, find closure in a resolved relationship, and/or find a way to forgive any wrongs that may have occurred. We need to do this in order to move on to the next cycle.

What Led Us Here
We made choices in February that led to both rewards and consequences. We learned some valuable lessons and many things changed for us. Now, in order to move on, we have to close the door on what is done, so that we can open the door before us.

Notice the woman's arms are raised, forming a bridge from our choices to the loose ends that need to be tied up. If you're not sure what door needs to be closed, you should think over the month and the choices you made. Be honest with yourself and resolve what it is that may still remain even a little open, Burn the Bridge.

Outcome/Result
As a result of finding closure, we will step into alignment with our greatest good. We will be presented with opportunities that may have seemed out of our reach before the closure. Events will line up perfectly with what we want to achieve. This is the time to grab your dream and hold on tight. You are about to go for a Wonderful Ride. The sooner you tie up those loose ends, the sooner your new journey can begin.

"When one door closes another door opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us." ~ Alexander Graham Bell

Guidance for February - Time to Make Your Choices Count

I'm very excited to be using the Tempus 85 this month. The deck has proven to be extremely accurate and easy to use. If you've read the deck review, you are aware of my excitement. If you haven't, be sure to go there after the reading.

I decided to use the Square of Nine Spread, also known as the Portrait Spread. It's a basic 3X3 layout. If you're familiar with Lenormand, you'll know the spread.

My steps through the spread are a mash up of the many suggested ways of other readers. In case you're interested, I'll post something later in the month to walk you through my steps. I'd rather not interrupt the reading post with technique details.

I asked the usual question, "How should we approach the month? What can we expect?"

Focus
Speed will be the main theme this month. Time is going to fly by and everything's going to shift quickly. I'm not sure about you, but that sounds fine to me. I'm tired of being stalled!

Basic Issue
The answer to finding your success will be in the choices you make publicly known. In other words, by declaring your goals and desires to another person, you make yourself accountable and this will help you find the success you seek.

Hidden Aspect
What you may not be aware of is that your desire to have something more, which has led to the departure of someone in your life, will bring some deeper issues to the surface that need to be dealt with. You thought that if you simply freed up your space and time, you would find the more you was looking for, but you'll need to go a little deeper. You need to ask yourself, what do you actually want more of? You already know the answers, but you may need to review a bit of your past, where you've been and what you've experienced up to this point, to find the clarity you need. It's time to do a little self-reflection work.

Past, Present, and Future
You've recently made it public, in some way that you are ready for something more. Someone is departing from your life, which will move quickly now, but has been a long time coming. Your choices will bring about the successful untangling of the issues you've faced.

Mind, Situation, Known
You are aware that you made the right choice in asking this person to leave. The issue of wanting more will quickly become untangled and clear to you. You're exposure of this deep longing will bring about your success.

Overview
The choice you made of separating from this person is going to bring your desires to you quickly. You should be prepared for the success you are about to experience.

Knighting the Oak
Slightly puzzled by the Oak, I decided to Knight it and get a clearer understanding of what it's referring to in the reading. Knighted by the Key and Crossroads, the Oak is pointing to the right choices being made. So, by making the right choices, the success we find will be more solid.

I hope YOU find this reading helpful. This reading touched very close to home for me and my own situation. I'm hoping it expands to the readers of the post, since that is actually the purpose here. But, if it doesn't, use the reading as an example reading for practice purposes.

Happy February, and Make those Choices Count.

Be sure to go read the deck review.

Review: Tempus 85 by Marsha McLaughlin Radford

Tempus 85
Author: Marsha McLaughlin Radford
September, 2018

I am very excited to tell you about this deck.

The Tempus 85 is an expanded deck for divination and learning Lenormand. This deck was recommended to me on the basis of the accuracy of its readings. I definitely have not been disappointed.

I have selected it as my February deck. I can't wait to be using this deck every single day this month!

In a normal Lenormand deck, one card has many meanings and it's up to you to decide its intended meaning according to the context. With the Tempus 85, the guessing game is over. Everything you need to know is right there in the cards. Yes, you still have to decipher the cards, but it's much easier to do when you are dealing with this much narrower focus.

The Snake has been expanded into three cards. Snake - Lies, Envy, Competition, Jealousy./ Rival - The Other Man Or Woman, A Third Person./ Yarn - Things And Issues That Need To Be Untangled. No more guessing! Yes, I suppose the Snake could be an actual snake, and even the Yarn could actually be a ball of yarn. But, I think if that's the case, you will know.

Also, notice down the side of the first card. You will see the original card has been linked to the other variations of the card. 7a Snake (c12), 7b Rival (c13), 7c Yarn (c14) - basic translation: The Snake card in the Lenormand is the 7 card, but here it has become the 12 card, the variations of the card are listed as 7b and 7c and as card 13 and 14.

The Coffin has also been expanded into three cards. Coffin - An Ending./ Door - A Transition./ Tears - Flood of Emotions, Sickness, Grief, Aching Heart. The Links - 8a Coffin (c15), 8b Door (c16), 8c Tears (c17).

Some of the cards have not been expanded. If this is the case, you'll only see the original card number displayed down the side. 3 Ship (c5), 24 Heart (c58), and 18 Dog (c40). Ship - Travel or Transition. Heart -Who or What You Love, Romance, Passion. Dog - Loyalty, Reliability, Someone or Something You Can Depend On.

And, even after all that expanding, the author found more to add! There are a total of 12 additional, unique cards in the deck. Above, you get an idea of what you might find. Cell - A Lack Of Options or Choices. Balloon - Wanting Less of Something Negative. Calendar - Scheduling, Making Time, Perfect Timing.

And that's not all! There are 6 cards designed especially for your timing questions. The backings are different than the rest of the deck, setting them apart. It's up to you how to incorporate them into your reading.

I've chosen to leave them in the deck. When I do a reading with no timing bounds, I just don't select a clock card. If it is a timing question, I search out the one clock card that pulls me to it. And, as a side note, I do fan this deck and chose random cards for my reading. This isn't my normal procedure. I usually deal from the top, but this deck insisted on being treated differently.

I recommend this deck to everyone! It is a pick up and read deck. You really don't need any experience with Lenormand or any reading style to get some insight from this deck. It is that easy to read!

You can go over to Arcana Land for more information on the deck, additional card images, and some sample readings.

If you'd like to try them out yourself, you can purchase this deck at Amazon and Game Crafter.

Decks are also available on Etsy - in the deck creator's shop - BestOnDeck. This deck is available in both poker size and mini version.

Please share your experiences with this deck in the comments. And, of course, if you have any questions about the deck, feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer or find the answer for you.

And be sure to take a look at this deck in action in the next post - Guidance for February.

Guidance for January - Be Courageous

I decided to work with the Dreams of Gaia Tarot by Ravynne Phelan this month.

I've had the deck for a while. Like so many other of my decks, I've never took the time to actually use them. I plan to continue into 2019 with my process of using one deck per month. I also have a few decks from Schiffer for review consideration. So, you'll see some reviews coming soon.

But for now, let's look at what January has to offer. Oh, and Happy New Year!

I asked the usual question, "How should we approach this month? What can we expect?" And, I laid the cards out in a three card story layout.

3 of Water - She looks toward the past, appreciating all she's experienced and quite satisfied with herself. You should take a moment to celebrate all your victories of the last years. Sometimes we forget to take a look back over what we've done and where we've been. Make sure you allow for some joy and celebration before moving into the newness of the year. You've accomplished a lot. And here's some great news. It's not over. You have many more successes coming your way.

9 of Earth - Oh boy, it looks like it's time to do that decluttering you've been thinking on over the last few months. You felt it all pulling you down and you were correct. The material possessions cluttering up your life don't feel so important anymore do they? But, don't stop there. It's time to lose your old pains, let go of the guilt of leaving some people behind, and for goodness sakes let go of that secret that's tearing you apart. It's time to set yourself free.

10 of Earth - Okay, now that you've gotten that taken care of, (the celebrating, reflections, and letting go) it's time to see the rewards come rolling in. You've put it all out there and it's coming back to you in the form of a complete come together. Everything just feels Right. Embrace it all - your highest self, your highest calling, that feeling of personal 'Glow'. Show the world who you truly are.

Overview - You should approach this month courageously. Yes, more success is there for you, but that doesn't mean it will be easy. You'll still have to keep working toward your goals. For me, the decluttering will be a battle all on its own. But, all of the struggle will be worth it in the end, if only to feel that moment of being the true you.

Happy January!
