Let's Get Grounded

I used my Magpie Oracle charms to decide on the topic for this week. I pulled the Rider, Heart, and Tree.

The topic is: A heart-felt message about grounding.

I smiled at this message from Spirit, as it is not only for the readers, but also for me.

For the last couple of days, a shroud of darkness has slipped over me. My energy had grown low, not to the point of exhaustion, but it was headed in that direction. With exhaustion, I usually get headaches, mainly because I fight it. Who has time for a break? But, sometimes you just have to take one.

A few weeks back, I went through a long period of exhaustion. I was so tired that I couldn't bring myself to do anything at all, so I let go and let be. The cure at that time was lots of sleep and reading. I healed myself and raised my vibration without thinking much of it. I could have saved a lot of time if only I'd thought to do some grounding work.

The logical mind doesn't always lead you where you need to be. But, you can always count on Spirit.

Before I began writing the post, I did some grounding and some clearing. It worked; I feel better.

I want to share some grounding techniques to help you get in gear for the week ahead.

What is Grounding?

Grounding is the process of connecting with the physical and replenishing our energies. Any work with Spirit has a draining effect on our energy, because it takes energy to form the connection between the physical and spiritual sides of life.

The more you work with Spirit, the more likely you are to notice dips in your energy level. That is, if you don't practice some grounding techniques.

Here are a few techniques you can try:

  • Breathing – This is my number one 'go to' because you can do it anywhere and anytime. Focus on your breathing, notice each inhale and exhale. Take a long deep breath in and slowly release it. Try this for about ten times.
  • Drink Water – Dehydration seems to be a side effect to working with your psychic energy. This is one of the reasons you may find yourself tired after a tarot reading, or other spiritual workings.
  • Eat Fruit or Vegetables – Eating natural, earthy foods work great for me, an instant energy booster.
  • Hobbies – Anything you do for fun is great for grounding. The act of losing yourself, it centers you. Such things as: baking, gardening, walking, reading, or painting. Like I said, anything you do for fun.
  • Take a Hot Shower – This is another of my favorites. Imagine the water is washing away all negative energies, and your skin is absorbing the positive energies of the water.
  • Get In Touch With Nature – Step outside, walk barefoot in the grass, watch birds, hug a tree, do some gardening, or try a nature hike. The important thing with this technique is to BE in nature: watch, listen, smell and feel your surroundings.
  • Meditation – This is always a good choice, but it takes practice for it to have a full effect. Daily Meditation is the best method. Start with short sessions and lengthen them as you grow more comfortable with the process.
  • Grounding Objects – Crystals and Stones work great for this, but anything that brings you comfort will work, like a photo, snuggling in your grandmother’s afghan, or even petting your favorite kitty.
These are only a few grounding techniques. Feel free to share your own processes in the comments. I hope I've added at least one new thing to your toolbox of tricks.

Have a wonderful, grounded week.

Prosperity - Positive Thought

From the Magical Times Empowerment Cards by Jody Bergsma, we pull the path of Prosperity for guidance for the coming week.
Focus on the Positive and more good will come. Give thanks for blessings and they will multiply. Prosperity begins in the Mind.

Most of us underestimate the power of our minds and thoughts. But, if you really look around and listen to what’s coming out of people’s mouths, I think you can begin to understand the real energy behind our words.

Positive thinking is the true path to prosperity. Some of us get thrown off track because we assume we can protect ourselves completely. Nothing will go wrong, and when it does we can't understand what we did wrong. That’s not exactly how it works. If it did, we would all be on the positive train.

Bad things happen and that’s all there is to it. No one is sheltered from obstacles, trials, and challenges. What you do have control over is your reaction, pure and simple.

None of this is easy, but it is the best way to live. We fail, we fall, but then we start a new day. In fact, some mornings you'll throw your hands up, say some ‘nice’ little words, and dig back into that big old bed, warming up with those negative thoughts. Heck, we all do it from time to time. Life is hard.

The thing to remember is your thoughts and words create energy. Whether it is positive or negative, the energy will build and attract more of the same.

If your first thought of the day is: “This is going to be the worse day ever,” you are most likely going to have a very bad day. But if you begin the day with: “I’m going to make the most out of this day,” chances are it will be a productive day.

Things change throughout the day, things happen, others’ energy merge with yours. But, it’s important to try your best to stay in your energy field, surrounded by positive thoughts. Be consistent, be strong. If you stray, catch yourself and get back on track. Each evening, give thanks for what was good, let go of what was not, and prepare for the next day to be full of positive thoughts, reactions, and results.

Affirmation: I choose to live with a positive mindset. I face challenges as they come and learn from each new obstacle in my path. I give what I wish to receive, hope and happiness.

Song Choice: Miley Cyrus - The Climb - Music Video

I wish you all a happy, positive, and productive week. :)

Metamorphosis - Life Transformations

I pulled out my Magical Times Empowerment Cards by Jody Bergsma. This is a wonderful deck for receiving intuitive information concerning your higher path and current energies.

The little white book suggests using reversals which indicate an imbalance of the card's energy. Spreads and card affirmations are also included in the booklet. But, this isn't actually a review. I will say I do love this 44-card deck.

So, I asked the cards, "What path should I choose this week as I move into the new month of June?"

Metamorphosis: Trust the Process and be Patient. Becoming Cannot be Rushed. Change is Beautiful.

I got excited when I saw the wonderful image of this magical butterfly.

I'm not one to enjoy change. I like to have a routine of sorts, to know what comes next. But to be honest, change is necessary in my life, especially at this point. I spent a couple of weeks in May feeling depressed and actually giving up on ever getting beyond the current point of my life.

The bad (or good, depending on the viewpoint) thing is life is really good right now, better than it's ever been. But, to stay in one point, to not move forward, to go through life simple and easy with no challenge, well that's just a little too boring. I need the feel of movement, of improving, of achieving more. But, when you work most of the day, come home, eat, and go to bed, there's not much left for doing MORE.

I heard somewhere that before a big life change there is always a pause, the quiet before the storm. Perhaps the moment of deflating was just that, the time before the shift, before the rise, before the transitioning stage. I've only risen out of the hole over the past few days. There have been some signs (without going into major details - a child and a fawn) pointing toward 'new beginnings, something new hitting me out of the blue.'

The little white book offers affirmations for each card, but they are long. I like short and sweet.

Affirmation: Change is a process, a rhythm in life. I accept what is changing and I release what I cannot control.

Go with the Flow, Be Present

I turned to the Conscious Spirit Oracle by Kim Dreyer for a little advice for the week - May 26 to June 1 - and received the Wheel of Life.

Life consists of many cycles - birth to death, night to day, spring to winter, etc. The advice of this card is to stop fighting the natural rhythm of the cycles. Work with them, harmonize and become a part of the flow of life.

Affirmation: I am guided by the cycles of life and live in complete harmony with them.

Everything has a cycle. Become a part of the environment. Live in the present. The Wheel of Life is the quickest route to becoming connected with your soul and gaining guidance from the Divine.

"Accept and love yourself and your environment at every stage of life." ~ Kim Dreyer

To better connect with the card, I decided to do a quick Haiku.

Wheel of Life
Fight against the breeze
Blown in many directions
Glide and you shall fly

Lately, my brain has turned into a radio station. I keep getting bits and pieces of songs flashing through my mind, and 'yes' I'm doing my best to pay attention to the messages coming from the higher source.

As I write this post and look upon this card, two snippets are playing. 1) The Byrds - Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There is a Season) 2) Carrie Underwood - Jesus, Take the Wheel

Are you struggling? In what area of life do you feel the most resistance? Need some guidance, some Tarot Guidance?

Life doesn't have to be a struggle. As humans, we find it natural to take the hardest road possible. Of course, this in itself is one of our lessons to learn. Be blessed and enjoy the week ahead, every moment of it.

Take a Break, Relax, and Rejuvenate

Take a Break, Relax, and Rejuvenate

Sometimes we need to follow the example of animals. My kitties, Tike and Prissy, have the right idea. Take it easy this week. You'd be surprised what can happen inside a rested mind - insight, creativity, happiness.

Tarot Forecast and Exploring Your Intuition

Honestly, today approached too rapidly! During the week, each day brought new events and problems. LIFE kept getting in my way. I didn't even have time to think about what I would write for this post.

Sunday is usually my day to tie the post up in a nice little bow and get it scheduled for an early Monday morning publication. But, here we are, and my mind is really too scattered to present you with something worth reading.

As with the Ten of Wands, sometimes you take on more than you can handle. All it takes is one of those wands shifting out of place and it all tumbles down.

So, the solution is to bring you two great video by the Daily Tarot Girl.

First up, the Daily Tarot Girl takes you into the week with a Tarot Reading for the Week Ahead.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Higher Intuitions Oracle and Haiku Poem

Some Food for Thought
Creativity - an expression of your Higher Self.

Is your Muse also your Spirit Guide?

Do you ever wonder how connected your creative mind is with your higher super-subconscious? Are all intuitional thoughts coming to you from the same source? Are the voices, the gut feelings, the chance encounters part of a path, a destined course of action chosen before entering the physical world?

We all have such questions, yet only a few choose to dig further, exploring the possibilities. Are you living your life on auto-mode, or are you living to your full potential, pushing the boundaries?

Higher Intuitions Oracle – a glimpse of guidance
Wow! This card keeps popping up! Pegasus showed up in the sample reading posted a couple of weeks ago. I've also pulled daily cards from this deck and more than once found myself looking at this beautiful animal.

Pegasus – Soar

If you have chosen Pegasus, this is the time for you to soar – take charge of your creations and release the shackles from your spirit and soul.

We look at our lives, searching for some hint of magic – something so grand it couldn’t possibly hide. The Pegasus suggests looking at the smaller things in life. A simple gesture can bring joy to your world and to others. This is where you find the wind beneath your wings to soar to higher levels.

The hardest part is to take that leap, but once you do…then you’ll soar.

A Haiku Poem - Pegasus

Soul, Angel of Light
Spread your wings, Soar to great heights,
Find your destined path.

Searching For Direction

Artwork © Jennifer Galasso, 2011
I pondered over what to write about in the world of tarot this week and decided to ask the cards. They presented me with The Unknown Card of the Crystal Visions Tarot. Now how helpful is that?

The purpose of this addition card in the deck is to identify aspects not yet revealed in the scheme of things. The card offers a suggestion of patience to discover what is not yet ready to be known. The figure in the card offers forth a crystal ball, urging you to look within, to meditate upon the matter at hand.

I have been thinking on the best direction to take the blog over the last few weeks, hence the re-publications of deck reviews from my Tarot Examiner. I've also found myself short on time – both job related and self-inflicted.

Scattered is the word for it. I've missed writing sessions, slacked on my blog duties, and even found myself sitting in front of the television doing nothing at all – which isn't like me at all. I’m always doing something – minus a few hours a week dedicated to shows I watch faithfully.

Which shows you may be asking? The Following, Grimm, Client List and The Walking Dead are my main ones at the moment. I've also been catching Two Broke Girls, Anger Management, and Two and a Half Men. You have to add a little comedy into the mix right?

O, right, we were talking about the blog. See, told you I was scattered.

Anyways, discovering the best direction for the blog – it seems everyone is writing tarot blogs, and I want mine to give you something you may not be getting anywhere else. Feel free to offer ideas of some topics you’d like me to cover. Just go to the contact page, or leave comments.

The Fool’s Journey posts drew many views and comments, but my thoughts have led toward finishing them up offline, editing the earlier posts, and offering the entire story as an eBook. When I'll actually have time to do this is another story entirely.

Individual Card Meanings are always popular. How to learn the tarot, new spreads, and Deck Reviews seem to be nice topics many readers enjoy. Healing with Crystals, Contacting your Spirit Guides, Numerology? Speaking of such, last week Cutting Energy Cords appeared on my Tarot Examiner, if you’re interested.

So, tell me what would you like to see on the blog?

Feed Your Spirit

We tend to our physical bodies. Food satisfies our hunger, exercise keep our muscles strong, bathing pampers our skin, and on and on. But what are you doing for your spirit? Do you find yourself neglecting the most important part of your existence?

How do you feed your spirit?

Laughter is an important ingredient in caring for your spirit. Take a moment and evaluate your moments of laughter. Is it a rare occurrence? If so, find what makes you laugh and incorporate it into your life. If you are lucky, it may be as simple as spending time with a loved one.

What other appetizing morsels can you serve your spirit?

Spirits are all unique. You may have to take a moment to determine what makes it happy. Then, you can create a menu to keep your spirit alive and well.

Is your spirit adventurous? Does it enjoy quiet time? Many love creating, be it gardening, painting, writing, etc. Your spirit may be a music lover. Be creative and find what to feed your spirit, and strive to do so, on a daily schedule.

You can be as strong as an ox, clean as the air, and healthy as a horse, but what good is any of that if you live your life miserable and numb. Give your spirit some nourishment and enjoy each day of your life.

What's on your spirit's menu for today?

Reconnect with Divine Guidance

Throughout life, we all experience Divine Guidance, although sometimes we ignore the little voice directing us, guiding us, helping us. If you don't think you've ever been touched from the heavens, think again.

The last time you lost your keys - ask yourself why was the last place you looked and found them somewhere you never would have put them in the first place? How did they get there? Why did you even look?

Guessing who's on the other end of the phone - remember the moment right before the phone rang, you thought of your mother and it turned out she was the caller? What made you think of her?

How about the inner voice suggesting you may be driving too fast and should slow down? Moments later, blue lights dance and a siren blares. You should have listened right?

If God and his angels can speak to you concerning such small issues, can you imagine what you could accomplish if you only allow yourself to listen a little closer? It's hard to let go of your control and take guidance from the unknown, but really what do you have to lose?

Take a moment out of your day. Find a comfortable, quiet spot, clear your mind, and listen. You may be surprised by what you might learn from the angels above. They are also available for requests.

What experiences have you had with messages from angels?

Spiritual Awakening

Spiritual awakening -- A spiritual awakening usually involves a realization or opening to a sacred dimension of reality and may or may not be a religious experience. Often a spiritual awakening has lasting effects upon one's life. The term "spiritual awakening" may be used to refer to any of a wide range of experiences including being born again, near-death experiences, and mystical experiences such as liberation and enlightenment. (Definition from Wikipedia)

"the awakening or quickening of God's people to their true nature and purpose." Robert Coleman

2012 introduces us to a new way of thinking as we wonder what will happen in December, if anything at all. Some believe the coming event will not be the end of the world physically, but a spiritual awakening of the human race.

According to an article by Geoffrey Hoppe and Tobias, there are twelve signs we can look for within ourselves to reveal our state of awakening. Are you moving toward your spiritual awakening?

Here are the top 5 signs.

1) Body aches and pains, especially in the neck, shoulder and back.
2) Feeling of deep inner sadness for no apparent reason.
3) Crying for no apparent reason - similar to #2 above.
4) Sudden change in job or career.
5) Withdrawal from family relationships.

A Blogger/Tarot Enthusiast Review

I reflected on my blogging journey and writing adventures on my writing blog this week. I decided to do something similar here on the tarot blog.

Tarot Guidance began January 2010. Over the two year period, I have met many tarot/spiritual people, helped countless individuals with my tarot readings, and learned a great deal about myself.

This blog has moved further than just being a tarot blog. We've discussed Angels, Spirit Guides, Crystals, and more. The year 2012 will bring many more interesting topics as I move into further spiritual exploration. I hope to cross paths with more individuals and discover new directions in this journey we call life.

The top posts of the life of this blog have been:

I plan to present more interviews, complete the Fool's Journey, and post more readings in the coming year.

Also, you may have notice the missing images - I do plan to get these back in place as soon as possible. I've worked on them, but because each post has to have a specific image to match the reading or card discussed, it is taking a good amount of time.

Best wishes to all. See you next year.

Do Angels watch over us?

Angel prayers on Public Domain Images
As we move through our daily lives, do we have Angels helping us along the path?

There, of course, is controversy in such a question, but many have experienced events which lead one to say 'yes'.

Angels are seen as God's helpers. They will come and help us in our daily trials if we only ask for their assistance. Each human has freewill, but this freewill can allow you to hand over troubles to God and his helpers, and they will assist you.

We don't have to struggle through this life alone. Each of us has at least one angel watching over us at all times, but only certain circumstances allow him/her to intervene without our request.

Take a moment of faith and ask for the help of Angels with your trials or the trials of another.

September 11 - The Day We Joined Together

Ten years ago, the United States joined together as we lost our loved ones to a great tragedy.

Where were you when the moment of silence fell across the states?

At that time, I worked in a clothing factory in Tennessee. I don't remember who told us about the events, but as the word spread from one end of the building to the other, silence engulfed us all.

I didn't lose anyone in this tragic event, yet when I heard the news tears filled my eyes and I believe my heart stopped beating for a split moment. Tragic news such as this affects us as a whole. It is during times as such, we join together through a spiritual connection, whether we realize it or not. We are of one in this great big world and one day that togetherness will span more than a few minutes, hours, or days.

As we face a day ten years after the fact, please take a moment of silence to send prayers out to all those in need, all around the world.

Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning) by Alan Jackson

Have a blessed day!

Free Automated Tarot Reading

I don't put much faith in automated tarot readings, but they can be fun to play with at times. Sometimes they even seem extremely insightful. I was surfing around and happened upon a site I thought you might have some fun with.

The tarot readings are very detailed. There are also angel readings, horoscopes and more. So, if you are bored and just want to play around check out NewAgeStore.com

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Lightning Strikes

Lightning strike by Adam Weeden
Monday night, lightning struck the phone box attached to the side of my house. The results: a destroyed modem, router, monitor, x-box, television, and a few other toys.

If you are a frequent visitor, you are aware of the other chaotic episodes occurring over the last few months.

Is the spirit world trying to tell me something, or was the lightning strike a freeing of the negative energies?

I just happened to be on the computer when the big bang came, and a current surged through my mouse and up my arm, stopping right at my elbow. The negativity had dissipated quite a bit by the time of this occurrence, but the morning after the shock was a complete turnaround.

Negativity is gone, and positive thoughts are at full strength. I'm back to my old self.

I just wonder if maybe the lightning bolt shot down to destroy the negative presence at my side. I haven't had time to do a reading on the matter, but no matter the case, I feel much better - energetic, in control, and on top of my game.

Now, I have to get caught up with all my projects and hopefully get back to my forward movement in life.

Happy Thursday!

Negativity Creates Chaos

1909 Rider-Waite Deck
Since the middle of July, my life has turned to chaos. From electronic/mechanical failures, finance issues due to the before mentioned, and relationship issues, the road has been cluttered, and I’m at the end of my rope. I’m trudging through the debris, but not sure how much more I can survive.

Preceding what seems to have been a tumbling of the Tower, dread wrapped its arms around me and negativity entered my life. Did the negative energy produce the downfall, or was it really the other way around?

According to what I’ve read on energies, my negativity may have indeed touched the physical and caused the chaos. But where did the negativity come from? My guess is an outside source. Energies are easily transferred from one person to the other, especially if you are highly sensitive.

To be honest, on the onslaught of this negative energy field, I knew something was wrong and knew something was about to happen. But as humans, we tend to avoid conflict and hope it goes away in time. I have reached a point where turning away seems to produce continuous chaos.

I’ve spent the past few weeks working on my negativity but it continues to return. I believe this to be so because the determined source of the negativity is close at hand. So, to work on my own spiritual energy is not accomplishing much at all.

After a few readings and searching within, I discovered a cycle has been started and to end the cycle more will need to be done than simple cleansing. The final event of this cycle is close at hand and will bring down the shaking tower. But, no journey is paved in stone, and the course can still be changed.

If your readings and your intuition speak to you of danger ahead, heed the warnings. The higher source is there to help but can only do so much. It is up to you to take action and make life what you want it to be.

Have you been warned in the past, only to continue on to face a disaster? Have you accepted the hazard sign and saved yourself from a failure? Share your experiences of intuition and foresight.

I See Dead People

"I see dead people" is a memorable quote from the movie, "Sixth Sense".

Ghosts and spirits are depicted in movies as horrible, possessive creatures for entertainment sake. I'd like to think more on the lines of the television show, "The Ghost Whisperer."

Do ghosts roam the earth? Do spirits contact the living? I'd have to say yes to both questions. We all must wonder why, but I have no real answer for that.

Quite a few years back, I had an experience that I shall never forget. Four of us, in Tennessee, went out for a nightly ride on some back roads. The story told was that at night you could see members of the Ku Klux Klan wandering this particular back road. I don't know the history of this organization or even if they had been known to be in this area. But this is what occurred:

We came upon a section of the road, where a large tree spanned overhead. My attention was drawn to the tree, for reasons unknown to me. I felt the truck jerk and my attention went to the road. In front of us, in the headlights, two white rabbits crossed the street. They seemed to glow. The men say they saw two members of the Ku Klux Klan, while the other girl and I saw the two rabbits.

It may have been two rabbits, but I don't believe in coincidences.

Share your stories of the unknown and unexplained  Have you ever seen a ghost or felt a presence? If you'd prefer your identity not known, but would still like to share your experience, send an email to: tarotguidance at chergreen dot com, subject: Ghost Stories.

Ace of Cups

Gilded Tarot
The Ace of Cups is one of the many tarot cards that may refer to 'a new home'. This post is not an explanation of the card's meaning, but an explanation of my absence.

I recently bought a new home. I'm currently in the process of moving. I'm sure you've noticed the lack of posting this week. This may continue for a few more days, but be assured I will be back posting regularly soon.

Are you psychic?

I never thought much about psychic abilities until a client commented on her bad luck with psychics. Then it hit me, she might assume I believe myself to be a psychic. I never really thought about tarot reading and psychic abilities being related.

Psychics were those people who could tell you of future events with no use of tools. After some research, I've learned that this is not necessarily true and I do have some psychic abilities. These abilities need some tweaking.

Have you ever looked at the phone moments before it rings? Have you ever known who the caller was before you answered? Do you assume that these events are coincident?

We all have psychic abilities. While we are children the ability is there, but after years of being molded into society it is nurtured out of us. Some have been lucky enough to have held on to the abilities, while others have to relearn the skills.

As a result of this research, I'm beginning a series of articles on the Examiner of how to develop your psychic abilities. Feel free to follow along as I explore and relearn my psychic abilities.

Developing your psychic abilities - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8

So, are you psychic?
